Valentine's Day Theme

The children practiced cutting and gluing strips of red, pink and purple paper to make heart collages.

At circle time, we read the Five Little Valentines poem and each child had the opportunity to take a valentine off of the flannel board when his/her name was called.

Mittens vs. Gloves

Last week, we ended our "Mittens" theme by taking a survey.  Each child was asked, "Do you like to wear mittens or gloves when you play in the snow?"  During circle time, each child shared what he/she had told me and glued his/her mitten or glove to the chart paper.  After everyone shared, we counted the mittens and then the gloves. The children were then asked, "Do more children like to wear mittens or do more like to wear gloves?"
