Footsteps Toward Discovery

The preschoolers have been having fun as they continue to take "footsteps toward discovery" (our yearlong theme)!

They're discovering great children's books.

They're discovering new ways to use materials.

They're discovering the world of science.

They're discovering new and more complex ways to make block structures.

They're discovering ways to use props as they move their bodies.

They're discovering new roles to play and

the joy that comes from having friends!

Let it Snow!

On their first day back to school after the winter vacation, the children made winter pictures. They used foam snowmen, wiggly eyes, pom poms, foam snowflakes and glitter. Red and orange crayons were put on the tables in case they wanted to add a mouth and/or nose to their snowmen. The numerals 2 and 4 were put on each table to indicate how many eyes and snowflakes each child should take.

Holiday Fun!

On Thursday, December 22nd, Grace's mother visited our class to read a story and lead a craft activity. She read The Sweet Smell of Christmas (scented storybook) by Patricia M. Scarry. It was a treat for all!

Cam's mother and Sam's mother also helped the children make their wreath ornaments. The ornaments came out great and the children had a lot of fun making them!

Many thanks to all of you!
