Shamrocks and Leprechauns

We had great fun on March 16th and 17th! The leprechauns made a big mess in our classroom and left gold coins for the children!

On March 16th, we made shamrock puzzles.  On the 17th, we used coffee filters, colored water, and droppers to make rainbow shamrocks.

We had a special green snack, including delicious Patty's Shakes!

The children used the leprechaun masks they made while singing the "I'm a Little Leprechaun" song.  They looked adorable!

"I'm a Little Leprechaun"
(sung to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")

I'm a little leprechaun.
My clothes are green.
I live by myself.
I don't like to be seen.
If you want my gold,
You can hunt for me.
Because I'm as tricky as I can be!

Pajama Day!

Pajama day was a big hit and the children looked adorable!
We had Teddy Grahams for snack.

On Monday, the children got comfy and listened to me read, The Napping House by Audrey Wood.

After listening to the story, the children used white chalk and paper moons and stars to make nighttime pictures.  They look terrific on the bulletin board!

For our circle time game, the children took turns looking for bedtime items hidden in the classroom.

On Tuesday, I read the story Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown.  The children also listened to a CD audio recording of the story Llama, Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney.

We talked about dreams and each child used a combination of dictating and drawing to tell their teachers about a dream they had or would like to have.  They did a fabulous job with this activity!
