Green Day

The children had great fun exploring oobleck on "green day"!  Oobleck is made by combining corn starch and water. We added green food coloring to the water before adding it to the corn starch. Oobleck has properties of both liquids and solids. It's name comes from the Dr. Seuss book, Bartholomew and the Oobleck.  While they explored, I asked such questions as:

"How does oobleck feel?"
"What happens when you squeeze it?"
"What happens when you let go of the oobleck?"

Essential Question:

What do scientists do?
